SMKSH'S CARNIVAL DAY 2019 - "Wild Wild West Edition"

This year, our fellow teachers and students over here at SMK Seri Hartamas gracefully co-operated to organize a carnival on Saturday, the 2nd of March held between 9am - 4pm. Its main purpose was to raise funds for our school to help upgrade some of the infrastructure and school facilities for the benefit of the students. It was a exciting day, with lots of games and food & beverage stalls on offer, as well as a range of food trucks lined up selling coffee, cendol & ice kacang, coconut juice, pasta, fried chicken, lamb chops & burgers to serve the crowds of people that visited our school on that day. Many SMKSH students, teachers & parents helped out tirelessly to make it a such a successful event. The aim of each class was to try to raise a certain sum to help the school. Most classes did fairly well, with a few classes exceeding the target.

Among the fun & games that were featured in the carnival were dart-throwing, mini-golf course, Nerf battle, trampoline, solving the mystery, horror house, photo booth, karaoke, laser limbo, throwing balls in the jar to win a fighting fish, guessing box, tattoos and nail decorating and console gaming. There was also a stall selling second-hand clothes. Besides that, there was an education section offering information & pamphlets on studying in Germany. Additionally, there was a registration booth for a hosting competition which was held a week later.

While enjoying the various activities on offer, visitors were also treated with many stalls selling various types of food to eat & lots of chilled drinks to quench their thirst on such a hot and sunny day. There was a huge variety of food such as KFC, McDonalds burgers, cupcakes, brownies, hot dogs, Korean chicken with nasi lemak and pizzas to name a few. Most items were sold out by the end of the day.

I believe that our carnival this year managed to reach its target of raising funds and ensuring everyone had a great time with their families & friends. The Wild Wild West theme was evident in the way the school was decorated with mock buildings made out of cardboard & a few people dressing up in cowboy hats & attire. A big thank you to everyone who participated in our carnival this year, hope we'll do another one next year :)
